I recently finished reading “No One Saw a Thing” and I have to say, I was completely engrossed from start to finish. This psychological thriller, written by first-time novelist Robin O’Connell, had me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

The story revolves around the small town of Twyland, where a murder takes place in broad daylight, yet no one saw a thing. The victim, a notorious bully, had been terrorizing the town for years and with no witnesses, it seems like the killer will never be caught. However, as the investigation unfolds, secrets and lies begin to surface, making it clear that everyone in town had a reason to want this person dead.

I found the characters to be well-developed and complex, each with their own motives and secrets. The main character, Maggie, is a strong and determined woman who takes it upon herself to uncover the truth behind the murder. Her determination and unwavering spirit make her a likable and relatable protagonist.

The plot twists and turns kept me guessing until the very end. Just when I thought I had it all figured out, a new piece of information would be revealed, adding more depth to the story. I also appreciated the way the author delved into the psychological aspects of the characters, making the reader question who is truly capable of murder.

The writing style is effortless and descriptive, making it easy to visualize the small town and its inhabitants. The pacing of the story was perfect, with just the right amount of tension and suspense to keep me hooked. I found myself constantly wanting to know more and I finished the book in just a few sittings.

Overall, “No One Saw a Thing” is a gripping and thought-provoking read that I would highly recommend to fans of psychological thrillers. It’s no surprise that it’s a No.1 Sunday Times bestseller and was chosen for the Richard and Judy Book Club. I’m eagerly anticipating what Robin O’Connell will write next.
